Explanation In Favor Of Books Infinity (Chronicles of Nick #1)
At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead. But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he's next on the menu.
As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?

Reading this book is like looking into a shoebox filled with colorless shrinky dinks. (http://www.michaels.com/shrinky-dinks...)There are many characters, and all of them are one-dimensional. Despite being set in New Orleans, Kenyon grossly misuses her setting, never once describing it. In her book, the city is dull, featureless, and empty. In "Infinity," Nick Gautier is your stereotypical chosen one. He has powers, maybe? And powerful beings watch over him, or something? And zombie typeThis is totally a young adult book. If your looking for something like the dark hunters series, its not here, so you dont get the romance and hardcore action. I would recommend this book to people who read YA books, but if YA is not your cup of tea like me, well you may want to read more than a couple of reviews before buying. There is action, and humor and teens that turns into zombies, yep, picture it, some of the football team as zombies coming after to kill Nick. Nick starts out as a loser.
This book is terrible! I might have been more interested if the writing wouldn't have been as bad. This book is written in the 3rd person, but it seemed as if she was confused as to who the main character was. All of the characters are written together and "thinking" and "saying" things at the same time and you have no idea who is thinking or saying what. After getting past that, the possible main character, Nick, is not even close to relatable. It's as if she was trying to make him a comedian
Disappointing addition to young adult paranormal genreHaving never read any of the Dark-Hunter books, I came into Kenyon's INFINITY: CHRONICLES OF NICK without expectations. Unfortunately, Kenyon's foray into the young adult genre left me extremely disappointed. As the book opens, we meet Nick, a scrappy but sullen fourteen-year-old boy who lives with his mother in the slums of New Orleans. After being shot during an attempted mugging one night, Nick is saved by a mysterious man who takes him
3* dnf: 50% (read online) HOMEBOY NEEDS JESUS AND THIS IS COMING FROM AN ATHEIST SO WHAT IN THE GOD DAMNThis has to be one of the STUPIDEST books I've ever read, BUT it's also pretty entertaining. Unfortunately I hate books where the mortal world mixes with the other world/powers. So all the demon characters were interesting, but the parts of the book with Nick's interactions with mortals were torture to read. A lot of this book felt like set up for future books instead of a cohesive plot line
I skimmed quite a bit through this one...and still feel I wasted a LOT of time. Yes...these are hours of my life I'll never get back. The book dragged on trying to get started as we went to school with Nick and watched him persecuted more thoroughly than Bilbo at an Orc convention. We suffered through him having to live on powdered eggs...with maybe a little bacon, sometimes not even out of date (Nick's mom is poor but noble....not real understanding at times, but noble. Oh and also very
