Chronicle As Books The Wild Children
A wise retired teacher in my church recommended this book to me. Probably appropriate for late middle school to Jr high, kids, it is also a great read for grownups—especially onsiderin* the times we find ourselves in now, where the old America we knew and loved has been overwhelmed with Russia and its oligarchs. The book is a reminder that cold-hearted greed and cruelty can come upon any nation, and leave starving, homeless children in its wake. It happened (and,to a lesser extent, is still happening) in Russia, and it could happen here. In the end, we have heroes like Alex, who, seeing a path to safety and wholeness, has to make the choice to take it for himself, or to turn back and show others the way.

Felice Holman, RDC-M #1, 1985, @ 1983, 1/88. Left behind when his famly is arrested by soldiers during the dark days following the Bolshevik Revolution, 12 year old Alex falls in with a gang of other desperae homeless children, but never loses his hope for a better life. Good. The book The Wild Children written by Felice Holman was about the Great Depression and the time period was the early 1900's.The main character is Alex he is a good leader. I say this because on page (30) he makes a group decision for the gang that everyone agrees on. He is also never gives up. I say this as one of his character traits because throughout the whole book he manages to not let his emotions get to him resulting in him being able to fight through all the bad things that happen to him
Good
IT WAS AMAZING, CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S NOT IN PRINT ANYMORE!
For young adults, this is a really good read.
One of the best books ever.
