The review looked good with many four and five star posts. That , and the sample first chapeter, enticed me into reading this amateurishly written, crude and shallow crime novel. The characters , settings and style were simple and shallow, and the dialogue risible. The mandatory sex scene early in the book , inserted to set up a blackmail thread, was nasty. I swiped past to try to get imto the story , only to find that I had wasted my money and did not want to also waste my time.I have purchasedA corker of a thriller!I hadn't previously read any of Peter Ralph's novels before picking up 'White Collar Blackmail', but after this fast-pace cracker, I will definitely be reading more in the future. The plot is a compelling one and develops at an ever-increasing pace, right up to the shocking conclusion. Although the protagonist Todd Hansen is not the greatest of guys a bit of a gambler, and mostly out for himself I found myself rooting for him, even as he got himself into deeper and
White Collar Blackmail by Peter Ralph is a financial thriller that grabs your attention from the start. The main character Todd is a gambler and a good one. He has a flawless system that allows him to win big and to win fairly consistently. When his system ultimately fails, an organized group of white collar crooks raise his debt limit, further putting Todd into the hole. This unfortunately doesn't bode well for Todd the accountant. Todd is now in a huge mess, and must extricate himself somehow,
An excellent novel centered on blackmail and corruption at the White Collar level. Different stories of people roped in to criminal acts to keep their personal lives out of the public eye. Many surprises await the reader.
Oh my goodness! This book surely got me reading like the keeps going and going bunny it was thaaat good! I mean, I seldom read novels of this caliber as I always pass them by but this book was given to me to review and wow! I could not put it down during the time I was reading it. It involves a group of white collar criminals who meet twice a month to discuss their illegal ways of acquiring money by way of blackmailing corporations and/or individuals who just happen to stumble upon bad luck
White Collar Blackmail I thought White Collar Blackmail was going to be about some sort of genteel, cerebral crime, not quite a British drawing room mystery, but maybe close. I never expected a fast paced, action adventure full of surprises that would keep me wondering where it was heading until the very end, despite my usual ability to see a plot line coming. I enjoy reading a book that is extremely well written, descriptive enough so
A young auditor, Todd, runs up a huge debt betting on horse races with illegal bookies. And typical of such people, when they are unable to pay up, people find creative ways to make them - in this case, by making him steal confidential information about his corporate clients. What follows is a fast-paced, action-packed thriller of what happens to his life due to his horrible choices. Read the complete review and more at my blog
