I recommend that you don't read this if you are a female real estate agent as its guaranteed to give you the creeps next time you show a house on your own. Chevy Stevens was herself working as a real estate agent when she got this terrifyingly scary idea for her first book and consequently quit her job to write it. Let me say quite frankly that me and STILL MISSING have been inseparable for the last three days. I have never wanted to turn pages faster than I did with the 340 in this book, all embodying the brazen, truthful, and wildly entertaining voice of abductee Annie O'Sullivan. It's actually difficult to use the words "wildly entertaining" in this review. It doesn't seem appropriate for the reality of the story. This is a hard book to recommend because it doesn't fit nicely into any category, some people will gush about it and others will hate it. There are many good bits that are weakened by a touch of poor writing, often weighed down by cliched phrases and the author's tendency to underestimate the reader's intelligence - like her frequent use of irony, only to then explain why that's ironic as if we couldn't get that on our own.
