Representaion In Favor Of Books The Dinosaur Lords (The Dinosaur Lords #1)
Men and women live on Paradise, but dinosaurs predominate. Colossal plant-eaters like Brachiosaurus, terrifying meat-eaters like Allosaurus, and, the most feared of all, Tyrannosaurus rex rule the land.Seeking to centralize real power in his figurehead Fanged Throne, Emperor Felipe of Nuevaropa sets off a chain of wars that may blaze up to consume the continent called the Tyrant's Head. But is Imperial ambition the only spark, or are more sinister forces at work?
And so we have as our players: Fallen hero Karyl Bogomirskiy, who gets lured into the quixotic task of raising an army from a province of pacifists. Part-time dinosaur master and minstrel and full-time rogue Rob Korrigan, who wants to get paid and laid--but he follows the man he's written and sung about into what looks like certain disaster. Princess Melodia, who is eager to escape the shadow of her indulgent but neglectful father, the Emperor. And Imperial Champion Jaume, Count of the Flowers, the Empire's most celebrated swordsman and poet, who wants to serve Beauty and the right. But what can he do when faced with two equally wrong and ugly choices?

I wish I could rate this book higher.I liked it, but didn't LOVE it, and I feel like I'm missing something... Can anyone who REALLY loved this title explain to me what hooked them?At this point, I'm not sure whether I'm willing to continue with the series...Knights on dinosaurs... Why has no one thought of this before now?
A beautiful looking book but didn't enjoy it all despite the great reviews and recommendations from people like George R R Martin. I thought it was a missed opportunity for a brilliant concept. I am sure a lot of high fantasy fans will love it though but I just could not get in to it, keep up with what was going on or who was who.

That COVER!!
Well honestly this book was a big disappointment for me really because after hearing the hype surrounding it and hearing George R R Martin endorse this I was at least highly intrigued by the idea of including Dinosaurs within a Fantasy...however, this book is nothing like what I expected or hoped for and every time I thought it could become something good it really disappointed me in the direction it turned.I have many complaints when it comes to this book but mainly it comes down to lack of
Ho boy. I didn't expect much from this book to be honest - the concept of dinosaur knights in medieval Europe is pretty bloody pulpy - but I got even less than that. Gave up on this one about 60% of the way in.Where to start. Speaking of starts, the book took until about 100 pages in to actually pick up - everything before that is either an extended prologue, or hamfisted character introductions which completely failed to impress any interest or empathy upon me. Conversations would proceed
Nah, I'm stopping here. This book is simply not fun. The prose feels almost documentary. It's stilted and not engaging. So on to the next book then.
