In this modern-retelling of Beauty and the Beast, Savannah Carmichael, betrayed by an unreliable source, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he's lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress with a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.

Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

Assess Regarding Books The Vixen and the Vet (A Modern Fairytale #1)
FIVE CLAIM MY HEART STARS. "Love me, Asher." And he did. And he would. Forever." My adoration for this book was helped tremendously due to my love for a well written book that tugs on the heart strings and gives my reading heart a well placed squeeze. It also didn't harm the enjoyment that my favourite Disney animation of all time is the classic 'Beauty and the beast'. I couldn't even begin to imagine that I would fall so in love with a book that I was requested to read and review and I'm more

First off, for the months of June and July 50% of the profits from the sale of this book will be donated to Operation Mend, which is used to help wounded veterans. This is absolutely a beautifully told story of a wounded veteran, Asher Lee, who came home from Afghanistan after being severely injured by an IED, losing his right hand, injuring his right leg and disfiguring the right side of his face. After a year in the hospital in Texas, he comes back home to Danvers, VA to the family estate.

WOW!! I have always been emotionally touch by stories that involve wounded veterans but Katy Regnery has taken it to a whole new level! This book is absolutely fantastic! A wonderfully written story with in-depth characters that is told with such caring and passion, I could not put it down. I laughed and cried as two struggling lonely souls find love only to be torn apart. There is longing, hurt, regret, devastation and anger but there is also a beautiful love story as Savannah and Asher embark

Ms. Regnery really outdid herself with The Vixen and the Vet. Honestly, 5 stars, just isn't enough. This IS an all-American love story, that I can truly see being turned into a classic. At least for me. After I finished reading it, I told the author how speechless I was, and that I was an emotional mess in a good way and, hours later, I still, pretty much feel the same. This book put me thru so many emotions; I laughed, I was sad, I was angry, I felt anxious, and I cried. At times, I didn't

5 Darlin' stars! What a beautiful story.... after the first few chapters I had a feeling about this book.. it felt good. it felt special.. I could just tell. The story of a wounded vet living a lonely secluded life and a beautiful journalist trying to get the life she knew back...Savannah.. sweet Savannah grew up in Danvers, VA .. a small country town where everyone knew everyone's business .. she was pretty and smart and had dreams of leaving the small town life and making it big somewhere.

3.5 stars! This was such a sweet book! Maybe a little too sweet for me, but overall I did enjoy it. I liked the premise a desperate journalist interviewing the town hermit, a reclusive and disfigured war veteran, as a last resort to save her careerand they fall in love with each other in the process. The few flashback scenes where the hero recounts his experiences in war brought tears to my eyes, and the romance itself was truly beautiful. I had originally planned on giving this book at least a
