Book – 4
The story has moved forward 8 years since the last book. It was interesting to learn how an half-vampire aged and how far he has come to getting comfortable being who he is.
As usual Darren Shan’s book has never failed to impress me. I was happy to read something different about vampire and their council. Like many book and movies, they stay with this same concept of having one king and everyone else is just normal vampires and all. But they lack tradition, most of the books I’ve read so far even the movies, focus on the traditional all black leather and gloomy mysterious and demonizing the vampire into this ideal cool and sexy vampire which I sometimes get put off.
In this book, we learn that vampires are bound to strict decades of old tradition and culture that is not the typical sexy and black leather bound vampires. The whole trip up to the Vampire Mountain is amazing to read, refreshing really.
I like how the wolf are vampire’ friend and not treated like guard dogs. They have their own story to tell. Darren is changing and learning a lot rapidly throughout the journey but I don’t think he noticed that.
I love how the Little People, Harkat finally has a voice. I know Darren even before this has always reluctantly admired them. He is now one of my favorite characters.
Mr. Tiny you really intrigued me !!!

Book – 5
This book was by far the best part of this 3 in one trilogy. I loved every chapter of it. Here we learn a lot more about vampire’s culture and their political system, vampanaze, Guardian of Blood and of course General Trials.
I admit I was a little disappointed with Mr. Crepsly, he put Darren in a situation that put him in a lot of danger, I don’t care if he was the ancient smart and ever trusted vampire of his clan but HELLO you have neglected to mention a lot of thing to Darren about being a vampire. It was very selfish of him. Not to mention during the mention of the Trials, he just up and asked Darren to participate knowing full well these Trials are meant for someone who is training to be a General. In this book I felt very annoyed him and his rash decisions.
Also in this book, we meet a lot of other characters, which in a way shows many different personalities of vampires in their clan. I was quite uneasy about Kurda in the beginning. He is overly and unusually protective of Darren and that usually that does ring the alarm bells.
The Trials were awesome read!!! I loved it a lot. I think the worse Trial was Hall of Fire. OMG that was bad as F. I thought Darren has lost his marbles. Another thing that truly annoys me about this Vampire culture is everything has to end with dead.
Oh you lost in a trial, to the stakes you go, nevermind the other trials you managed to get through. Oh you disgrace the Prince, off you go the Hall of Death……like people take it easy, No wonder there are so little of you left. I mean what really bothers me is that they gave people a chance to speak up and try to ‘convince’ them Princes but really everyone had already freaking made up their mind about your faith. Nevermind the logical or common sense. Just DIE DIE DIE FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT DIE DIE DIE
I don’t blame Darren’s urge to run away, hell I would do the same. It is nothing to do with Honour, it was common sense, you made me take the Trials which is meant for someone who is training for General position, who had years of training and a FULL VAMPIRE !!! Just because I failed in a Trial does not make me any less of a Vampire, I am better at other things ……like I don’t know …..having a freaking COMMON SENSE !!
And oh, COME ON !!! Why aren’t more girls interested in being Vampires !!! DAMMIT !!! I would love to be one !! Seriously ladies can’t be that all ladies wants to give birth, ever head of adoption ?
Oh and what’s with the names of the Halls ……so corny LOL
I love the wolves and Darren’s survival story as well !!!

Book – 6
Here is where everything goes to hell LOL
I won’t go so much in detail in this book, since I honestly believe this book reveal a lot of about the Darren Shan’s Trilogy.
I loved how Darren is able to see things differently to other vampires, I admit that at first when Darren felt sorry for the young dying vampanaze, It annoyed me a little bit, I was like “Darren they would have killed you first if you didn’t first”, but later when we see things from Darren’s POV we realize that OMG vampires take pride in who they are but really they are no different from the vampanaze as well.
DEATH DIE DEATH DIE both the vampires and vampanaze are obsessed with death!. They see no other way ……I bet there is no HALLS OF LONG TERM PRISON either lol. Here is where you truly see why and how a vampire acts before they think.
I’m am truly dismayed by the Kurda’s end. I felt like he had the best intention but he made grave decisions. He should have talked to the Princes, but seeing how reckless they behave, act before they think, it’s no wonder he did what he did. But still if given the situation Kurda still made the wrong decision, I would prefer him to be a prisoner rather than staked to death. I felt really bad for him because Kurda really did look out for Darren either with or without intention. Looks like having a common sense and logical thinking in a vampire clan ….means TO THE HALL OF DEATH !!!
I don’t want to sound cruel, but Arra’s death didn’t make me feel sad or anything, it was just another vampire funeral. I mean she had good intentions and she believed in Darren Shan but she died too soon, so I didn’t feel much of a connection with her.
The ending was *grins*

Weigh Up Containing Books Vampire Rites Trilogy (Cirque du Freak #4-6)
I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THESE BOOKS WERE THE BEST I HAVE EVER READ!!SERIOUSLY! (I even bought a 'Team Vampanese' shirt !WORTH IT!My personal favourite. I like 'Trails of Death' and 'Killers of the Dawn' and Rudi! I love that lil guy!If you have seen my other reviews, you know I fancy the weirdest characters from books. I am 12, and I fancy Larten Crepsley! Lol, Arra is lucky! I re-read these books over and over! I wouldn't say that I find them scary (as the fearless person I am) but shocking,

I loved these books when I read them, but it was so long ago I can't think of anything specific to say ^_^' I DO remember Mr. Crepsley and Arra Sails being awesome, and the story keeping me in it's super-strength, vampire clawed grip until the end. I think I can safely call this trilogy my favourite of the Saga collection.

Still very predictable, except the wolves on their first introduction. Saving Darren after he washed up was predictable. The traitor was obvious as was use of the spiders. Much faster paced than the first trilogy so even though you work out what is happening before it does, it is more enjoyable and you want to see if you are right. Would have been 3 stars but the wolves got an extra one. A fun light read for young people or those who haven't quite grown up yet.

Darren Shan was my favourite childhood author, this trilogy being my favourite three books of this series; especially trials of death, when Darren meets other vampires, including the council and has to complete a series of dangerous trials to be accepted as a vampire aah I loved it so much.I've read these over and over again and even though they're not as amazing as they used to be, they still deserve 5 stars and a place in my favourites, like I said, these books were pretty much my childhood

2nd time reading this 12 book sarga and remembered why I loved it when I was young. Reading them a 2nd time is nice as it refreshes the story in my mind as well as fills in some of the blanks :)

This is a truly wonderful series and I seriously recommend picking them up. Each of the books are pretty short, so going for these collections of three stories youre getting much better value for your money and much more fun with each book.If youre a vampire fan, if you want something other than vampire romance, jump on this now!

Great. [:
