I did not really enjoy. The plot and conflict was apparent within pages but yet the characters were oblivious. They acted much too childish for their age and many times I wanted to teleport into their world and give them a good slap of sense. Dont even get me started on the romance, it was abhorable and lacked much development.

The first time I read these were 8 years ago, and while it was still a really good read, I didn't enjoy it quite so much the second time around. The second and third books in the series were so much better than the first though, so hopefully I'll enjoy them the same.

I'm a huge fan of L.J Smith and when I saw this book at the library I thought I should give it a go. I'm glad I did because it was really good. For the most part, it was something different because it involved psychics which was different to the usual vampires, werewolves and witches that are so common in supernatural stories.I liked all of the characters except maybe Rob. This is more of a moan on the romance in the book itself then the actual story, mostly because its what you'd expect from the author by now and it's kind of clear what's gonna end up happening. Normally I'm all for L.J Smith's style of romance for the heroine: Her meeting the significant other, feeling the instant connection, the sparks, the combination of both which is "something she's never felt before" and blah blah blah you get the drift. I'm writing one review for the whole trilogy.I first read this several years ago (the original printing) in Junior High. It is my favorite L.J. Smith series. I love Kate, and how Smith writes her as such a relatable and believable person. She is a strong and independent girl (unlike Jenny in The Forbidden Game trilogy) who is desperate to connect with other people and learn to control her ability. Her reactions to things are genuine. When she sees a girl leaving Gabriel's room, instead of being
