This was enjoyable but not the best. It's hard not to compare this to Chima's other series which is PHENOMENAL and more strictly fantasy than a mix of fantasy and urban fantasy. I liked the characters but felt like they lacked depth and development. Jack did grow and change a bit, but not a ton in the area of character. It was also pretty predictable but I kind of expected that. I really enjoyed the overall plot - it was different than anything I've ever read and I loved that about it.

The story itself is riveting. The pace is brisk. I read most of it in one night...and finished the rest of it in the wee hours of the morning.
