This series doesn't disappoint. Here we are with the seventh book in the series and the stories keep getting better. They are chock-full of scary Spook business, dangerous opponents, narrow escapes, and surprising developments. I started reading this series aloud to Luke at the beginning of the year. But I was only about 50 pages into this one when he demanded to be able to read it on his own. (He didn't want to wait the glacial pace it would take to have to wait for me to read it. Besides, it'sWhile the Spook and his apprentice were busy fighting the dark supernatural things their country was fighting a big war nobody cared much about (World War I would be a good analogy). Still a war is a war and quiet almost backward part of the world where Spook lived finally saw military action. It is overrun by raider parties and is about to be conquered. Spook's biggest treasure and his main goal in life - his library - is destroyed and he and Tom had to run to a remote island. To make matters
This one didn't capture my attention as much as the other books did in the series. I do enjoy this series though so I will keep on reading them until I get to the end!! I'm always wondering where the next adventures for the characters will be.
Wardstone Chronicles Book 7*The Spook's Nightmare* Yet another gripping delight for the young readers of the Wardstone Series. This is a completely different book and things have changed a lot. You'll notice this at the beginning of the book itself. The plot takes place on Mona Island towards the south west of Chipenden. The book starts with a quick recap of its predecessor book and how our heroes fought of the Dark Goddess Ordeen in Greece and also the recap of characters and their origin. Let
I'm getting closer to the end. And darkness is scaring me as well.
4.5 stars. What can I say about this. It's going much darker. It's almost like Harry Potter bok 4. You just know that from know on it's going to get darker. Inn this book the characters are keeping secrets. It's still a lots of action going on. But I missed the fun parts. Except for that, it was amazing.
8/10This is probably the best instalment in the series for a while and possibly the best so far, I really enjoyed it and was able to get through this in quick time. There has been an over arcing theme with Tom and the fiend in the previous novels but this takes a bit of a back seat in this outing and it is more a standalone (dont read it out of order though as so many characters/themes are mentioned throughout) and works well for it.Tom and the Spook flea the County to the Isle of Man (or Mona
