Genie had me laughing out loud. Somewhat predictable story, still had twists and turns along the way. A fairly quick and light hearted read. It was mostly predictable, but there were also a few things that I thought were going to happen that didn't. The points that were predictable didn't take away from my enjoyment of the novel.I enjoyed the main character and her best friend and loved the ending.

This book was probably one of my first exposures to feminism when I was younger. I had never thought about the differing treatment for married women versus those who were not married. I found this book randomly at a book sale, and I thought the plot was interesting. I am really glad that I gave it a try because I actually enjoyed reading this book. It was a light read and it helped me get my mind off of work/ school. The main character and the story kind of reminded me of Sophie Kinsella's books, which I used to enjoy a lot.
