Emily begins learning even more about the heku and its evil past when she comes face-to-face with one of the original heku, an Ancient. She feels the strain as she’s taken from the comfortable coven, and even with Kyle at her side, can’t find her way in the new life. Emily starts to wonder if she’s not only a danger to the heku, but if she would be safer returning to the world of the mortal and leaving her beloved heku behind. When Emily gives birth, the Valle renew their drive to capture the last Winchester heir, and even the Equites Elders begin to feel the need to defend her.

Assess Regarding Books Valle (Heku #2)

This was the second in a series. The first one was really good. This one lost my attention about 3 chapters in. I never finished it.

This whole series was fantastic. It was quick, thoughtfully entertaining and interspersed with small snippets of humor.

I think this book was pretty short. I was surprised how it ended because it felt like it shouldve continued and not move on to another book but nonetheless I love this series.

It's been over 2yrs since I started this book, I liked the first one but hated Emily from the get-go & she just gets worse (much worse) in this 2nd book, hence I just stopped! I scroll past it every time I'm looking for a new book & instantly roll my eyes. I'm sure the potential could have been great if the heroine was ... hmmm less dumb & annoying.

After reading the first two books in the series, I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Emily is still being stubborn over the most stupid things and Kyle is quite annoying to me. I feel like I need to continue the series but don't want to continue to read more of the same.
